Job Description Systems Analyst I Summary

AECOM is seeking a resourceful and highly effective Systems Analyst to function as an integral member of a team on a government contract in Northern Virginia. Responsible for providing onsite user and network support of a classified system. Install, configure, maintain and support workstations, servers, network devices and proprietary software on the system. Ensure system availability and data integrity to meet the customer’s operational requirements.

Systems Analyst I Responsibilities

· Provide onsite user support. Respond to walk-up requests for IT support

· Perform system administration tasks by following the Standard Operating Procedures

· Assist with:

o Centrally managing workstations, servers, printers, and network devices

o Installing, configuring and maintaining workstations, servers, printers, and other peripheral devices

o Installing, configuring and maintaining operating system and required applications on workstations and servers

· Troubleshoot:

o Software/hardware problems on workstations, servers and network devices

o Network connectivity and other LAN issues

o Microsoft operating systems and Office products problems

· Manage:

o Shared network resource access/permissions at folder and file level

o Software and hardware inventory

· Support Microsoft environment:

o Active Directory – User accounts, security groups and user rights management

o Exchange 2007 – Mailboxes and distribution groups management

o SQL 2005 – Daily/Weekly backup of databases

o SharePoint 2007 – Sites and Lists management

· Stage workstations/servers with software/hardware imaging tools

· Identify and report critical system issues to senior analysts and customer

Systems Analyst I Qualifications

· US Citizenship REQUIRED

· Active SECRET Security Clearance REQUIRED

· Availability for night and weekend shifts REQUIRED

· Associate’s degree or certifications in IT related field

· CompTIA A+, Microsoft MCP or similar certifications PREFERRED

· VMware experience is a PLUS

· HP BladeSystem experience is a PLUS

· Fluency in Spanish is a PLUS (but NOT a requirement)

· Three (3)+ years of relevant work experience

· Knowledge of:

o Desktop PC and server hardware

o TCP/IP protocol and LAN/WAN technologies

o Microsoft Windows operating systems and Office products

· Ability to:

o Communicate effectively at all user levels

o Troubleshoot Microsoft Office and Corel WordPerfect macros

o Assemble and install server/equipment racks

· Experience with:

o Backup Utility for Windows or VERITAS products

o Symantec Endpoint Protection Suite or other antivirus products

o Acronis TrueImage or other imaging tools

o Hard drive duplicators

o CAT5 cabling, patch panel and network drop termination

· Familiarity with STIG and standard US Government IT security policies
