|The UASOCS System Administrator I (SA1) performs help desk and system administration functions so as to meet or exceed published Operational Availability (AO) rates. Serves as on duty crew member in training for configuration, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and analysis of UASOCS data processing equipment. Assists with basic configuration, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and analysis of databases, switches, networks, video systems, and long-haul communications interfaces. Continuously identifies and implements organizational, equipment and process improvements. Writes problem reports, assists with root cause analysis and recommends configuration and process changes. Provides status and technical assistance to the warfighters upon demand. Maintains knowledge of operations procedures and supporting documentation, and provides input to their development. Assists in systems and software installation as needed. Learns operations of new systems as those systems are fielded, and recommends procedural updates for those systems. Participates in on-the-job training. Assists with operational checks on equipment and systems to verify all equipment is serviceable and able to support mission requirements. Assists with preventive maintenance and coordination of scheduled outages. Works with external entities to efficiently activate new services and architectures and to promptly resolve outages and service degradations. Assists in maintaining latency, video quality, and bandwidth utilization for command and control and video dissemination.
The UASOCS SA1 is considered an entry- level position. Experience in computer system administration and DoD operational C4ISR programs is preferred. The SA1 has a high school diploma, at a minimum. Certified in UASOCS systems administration and at least one UASOCS operations center. Trained in Information assurance to DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II, and certified to this level within six months of assignment to this position.
