Job Description

The UASOCS System Administrator III performs system administration functions and supportd Help Desk functions so as to meet or exceed published Operational Availability (OA) rates. Serve as on-duty crew lead (as needed) and technical expert for configuration, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and analysis of UASOCS data processing equipment. Perform basic configuration, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and analysis of databases, switches, networks, video systems, and long haul communications interfaces. Work with external entities to efficiently activate new services and architectures and to promptly resolve outages and service degradations. Maintain latency, video quality, and bandwidth utilization for command and control and video dissemination. Operate and administer the IT service management system. Ensure IA requirements are met and serve as Computer Systems Security Officer (CSSO) if appointed. Prepare program documentation and reports as needed. Regularly perform shift work (24x7x365) CSA duties will be integrated into Systems Administrator Duties. Shift flexibility is mandatory.

SA3 has a minimum of five years experience in computer system administration and one year in basic network and database administration, as well as at least two years experience in a DoD operational C4ISR program; Certified in UASOCS systems administration and all UASOCS operations centers; Expert in Windows NT/2000/XP administration, both servers and workstations; Microsoft Exchange Administration; Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) and Domain Name System (DNS) in a mixed Window/Unix environment are required. Operational experience with UAS and help desk experience are preferred. Minimum of Associate’s degree in a technical or business field. All positions Trained in IA to DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II, and certified to this level within six months of assignment to this position.
